Many of the marinas and boatyards, in association with the clean boating partnership have started with methods to reduce pollution with the maintenance projects. These are simple methods that address many issues related to the chores of sanding and painting that create pollution. These methods are implemented by both the marinas and the boaters.
As a boater, if you hire a maintenance service contractor, make sure that the contractor follows the pollution prevention guidelines specified by the marina. The contractor should adhere to the environmental protective methods while the task of sanding and painting. Any spills, or accidents or hazardous products used during this process can greatly harm the coastline.
